Purpose Of The Position IEM is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer for our Surrey, B.C. locations and will report into our Continuous Improvement manager. Join our transformation journey as a lean professional supporting kaizen activities, standard work documentation, and data-driven process improvement. This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates with a passion for lean manufacturing and a desire to grow in a structured CI environment. Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence in our Surrey offices and does not offer remote work. Key Responsibilities Support cross-functional kaizen events focused on lean fundamentals, standard work, visual management, flow, problem-solving and strategic growth/ capacity initiatives Assist in the implementation of tools and processes across operations, supply chain, engineering, and commercial functions Develop internal capability by supporting the training and coaching team members/ leaders in lean thinking, daily management and continuous improvement practices Create improvement roadmaps based on assessments of the business system maturity Enable teams to embrace standardization, accountability, and data-driven decision making Identify and document internal best practices Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field; MBA or Master’s preferred 3-5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing, operations, or continuous improvement, preferably in a multi-site or matrixed industrial environment Deep understanding of Lean Principles (e.g., 5S, value stream mapping, standard work, visual management, PDCA, SMED, A3 problem solving) Demonstrated success leading cross-functional kaizen events and system-wide CI initiatives Understanding of basic ops finance, including P&L impact, cost drivers, and fixed vs. variable costs Strong facilitation, project management and communication skills Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization Compensation actually offered for this role will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
