Our multidisciplinary approach integrates all modes of transportation to ensure safety and efficiency for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists.The Senior Bridge Engineer works within a multi-discipline team to deliver successful bridge projects with innovative solutions. You will provide mentorship to Junior/Intermediate Engineers and Designers, oversee planning and design activities, and may act as Project Manager and Lead Bridge Engineer within multidisciplinary teams.Our hybrid work model accommodates flexible hours, and the position can be based in Mississauga, Burlington, Bowmanville, or London offices.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and analysis of bridge structures, including conceptual and detailed design phases.Perform structural evaluation of roadway and pedestrian bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other transportation structures.Develop and review preliminary and detailed designs of new bridges and culverts, rehabilitation work, and life-cycle cost analyses.Review and assist in the preparation of drawings, contract specifications, schedules, and probable construction cost estimates.Conduct construction administration duties when required and assist in construction liaison.Organize and assist field inspections of bridges, culverts, and retaining walls and prepare inspection reports per OSIM requirements.Review and write bridge evaluation and structural design reports and technical studies.Lead as Project Manager and collaborate with multidisciplinary Project Teams and external stakeholders.Assist in staff development and effectively delegate work to designers.Prepare and assist in development of proposals including business development and team development.QualificationsUndergraduate degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university (Master’s/PhD considered an asset).Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (eligible for membership).10 years of relevant experience in bridge design with CHBDC understanding.Thorough knowledge of CHBDC CSA S6, MTO manuals, OPSS, guidelines, policies, and standards.Strong technical background in planning, preliminary and detailed design of bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures.Knowledge of structural software such as CSiBridge, SAP2000, MIDAS; working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, including MS Project.Experience with condition surveys and inspections is an asset.Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills.A vehicle in suitable working order and a valid driver’s licence.Why CIMA+Comprehensive Group Benefits from day one for permanent employees (at least 20 hours per week).Employee and Family Assistance Program.RRSP with employer contributions up to 4%.Employee ownership with annual opportunity to purchase shares.Flexible hybrid work schedule.Work/Life balance policies across Canada.3-5 weeks of vacation, based on experience.Tailored training to improve your existing skills.Additional InformationEthics and integrity are fundamental values at CIMA+.
