Job Summary Stratford General Hospital, part of the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) in Stratford, Ontario, is a 120‑bed facility and the largest hospital in the HPHA. It is the regional referral centre for Huron and Perth County residents, offering a broad range of medical and surgical inpatient services. Surgical specialties include General, Orthopedics, Urology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, ENT, Plastics, and Ophthalmology. The Stratford site also provides Critical Care and Neonatal Intensive Care Units, Maternal Child, Telemetry/Stroke (District Stroke Centre), Mental Health, Complex Continuing Care, and Rehabilitation in‑patient services. The Emergency Department is staffed by FRCPC and EM physicians and sees over 35,000 patients per year. Stratford General Hospital is seeking full‑time or part‑time Anesthesiologists to cover the Operating Rooms, Obstetrical Services, and Pre‑operative work, which include 11,000 elective surgeries, 676 hip/knee arthroplasty surgeries, 1,200 deliveries (including 350–400 C‑sections), and 300 pediatric cases per year. Anesthesiologists at HPHA have the opportunity to teach and mentor residents and medical students from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University, with professional staff eligible to hold a University appointment. These full‑time or part‑time positions offer great flexibility and work/life balance, and include an attractive fee‑for‑service compensation with HOCC call stipend, relocation funding, and a generous return‑of‑service financial incentive.
