The successful candidate will play a key role in planning and coordinating systems engineering activities to ensure compliance to the requirements and traceability of the requirements from concept to qualification. Midland offers a perfect blend of urban amenities and natural beauty nestled on the shores of Georgian Bay, making it an ideal place to work, grow, and belong.What You Will Do:Demonstrate leadership in programs requiring technical coordination across multiple disciplinesCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support/prepare documentation for compliance and other technical deliverablesReview and edit technical documentation and proposalsManage requirements and the traceability to resultsWork to ensure intellectual property is protectedGenerate and execute test plansWork closely with customers to define requirements and support trade-off discussionsSupport Jurisdiction and Classification of technical hardware and dataOther job responsibilities as required.Key Competencies:Innovative problem solving and investigative skillsStrong analytical and reasoning skillsExcellent attention to detailAbility to review and interpret specifications, work instructions and drawingsTraining in Configuration Management systems and/or Requirements Management an assetCompetent computer skills – with advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word and ExcelEffective interpersonal, leadership and communications skillsAnalytical and reasoning; decision making with business acumenKnowledge of Intellectual Property an assetKnowledge of the Controlled Goods Program and/or Jurisdiction and Classification an assetKnowledge of optical systems an assetKnowledge of MIL-STD and ISO specifications an assetEducation & Qualifications:Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other appropriate technical education or experience equivalent.2 to 4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Working experience in the defense industry or in an optics related field is an asset.Raytheon ELCAN offers a competitive compensation package that includes incentive program, benefits, and pension plan.This position involves technologies regulated by the Canadian government’s Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program. In order to obtain the required security clearance, candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, have resided in Canada for a minimum of five consecutive years, and meet all other program requirements.
