This position will be on-site at our Woodbridge, Ontario manufacturing facility.We are growing and there has never been a more exciting time to join usCome see who we are at: https://www.assaabloy.com/group/en/about-usWhat would you do as our Manufacturing Engineer?As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for helping to design and implement systems and procedures to ensure efficiency, cost effectiveness, productivity, capabilities, and sustainability all with safety in mind.You would also:Identify, propose, and implement process refinements, enhancements, and continuous improvements to streamline the manufacturing process and improve overall efficiencies.Champion CAPEX projects, through all planning, execution, and commissioning phases.Ensure compliance and perform all duties in accordance with safety and environmental rules and regulations, including ISO14001 procedures and continuous improvement expectations.Research and analyze materials, tools, fixtures, and processes required to manufacture product in the most efficient manner.Identify cost extraction opportunities involving labor, direct and indirect materials, etc.Develop, design and document projects for tools, fixtures, and production aids to improve manufacturing efficiencies.Design manufacturing cell layouts to remove bottlenecks, improve throughput, etc. through application of lean fundamentals and tools to plan line balancing, standard work, product family assignment, work content timing, cell layout, material flow efficiency, continuous flow optimization and equipment utilizationPerform special assignments and projects as assigned.Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.The Skills and Experience you needPost-secondary degree in a related field, e.g. Manufacturing engineering.P.Eng designation or candidates working towards designation are preferred; job title may be adjusted to reflect qualifications.Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.Ability to read and understand architectural product drawings.Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean principles.Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, follow-up and a high comfort level balancing multiple priorities or projects simultaneously.Must excel working in a fast-paced environment.Experience working in metal fabrication or the hollow metal/door industry is an asset.What we offerWe believe in creating opportunities and providing benefits that empower you to grow, thrive, and build a rewarding lifelong career with us.
