Supervisor, Design & Engineering - Telecommunications Lead and develop a team of telecommunications network OSP designers, drafters, fielders, permit coordinators, aerial designers, project-assigned GIS analysts and other outside plant engineering personnel. Utilize well‑rounded OSP engineering knowledge, leadership abilities, and client management skills to grow and mentor your team. Description Provide technical guidance to the OSP design team and conduct final reviews of all completed work to maintain a high level of quality and accuracy of existing underground and civil plant infrastructure for new OSP network installations. Essential Responsibilities Direct supervision of designers, including performance management and training Support projects such as FTTH deployments, long‑haul network projects and permitting Conduct final reviews of all completed work to ensure a high degree of quality and accuracy of existing underground/civil plant infrastructure is maintained for proposed OSP network installations Coordinate with designers to ensure scope of work has been adhered to Ensure schedule deadlines and project deliverables are maintained for all engineering‑related assignments Manage work against approved budgets and schedules Own the interface with clients for technical, schedule and commercial matters Incorporate safety into all aspects of designs Review outside plant civil design and analysis of underground and pole transition infrastructure for quality and safety Provide feedback and collaborate for process improvements and procedural changes Oversee contract labor management, including scope, pricing negotiations and approvals for contract labor company selection Collaborate with PMO, field operations, engineering, and external partners to ensure seamless project execution Qualifications 10+ years in the telecommunications or engineering industries 1‑5+ years managing engineers or designers Experience in design and/or construction of outside plant telecommunication network infrastructure Ability to create, review, and modify design drawings using AutoCAD and GIS Knowledge of municipal, utility, and industry standards for telecom infrastructure, including permitting and joint‑use requirements Experience aligning design deliverables with construction schedules and managing design timelines Familiarity with QA processes, as‑built documentation, and design package validation Experience permitting OSP network in Canada and the US is an asset Fibre‑optic (FTTH, FTTx, Long‑haul, local access) network design and construction experience is considered an asset Professional engineer status (P.Eng) is considered an asset Work Conditions This is a hybrid position where you will be required to be in‑office multiple times per week Additional Information Ledcor Technical Services (LTS) designs, builds, and maintains wireline or wireless networks that span North America and beyond.
