The selected candidate will be assigned to the Stanley Park project and will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of aboveground and underground heavy equipment. Responsibilities As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic on site, you will: Verify the equipment in order to detect functioning problems; Repair and maintain the equipment through preventative and corrective mechanical works; Perform repairs, parts replacement, adjustments and settings; Verify hydraulic, pneumatic and electric systems; Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests; Clean the work area and store the tools; Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmission, and pumps on certain units in order to inspect and diagnose equipment problems using computer systems, calibration and gauge devices; Repair and inspect mechanical, hydraulic and electronic systems and equipment; Repair major components such as final drive units, suspensions, springs, bushings and central pivots; Provide entries and data for the treatment of work sheets, registration and equipment repair and inspection reports; Follow and respect all health, safety, and environment procedures; Any other related task. Requirements Heavy equipment mechanic certification (red seal) or any related training; Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric knowledge; Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar position; Valid class 5 driver’s license (class 3 would be an asset); Must be conscious of health, safety, and environmental procedures. Skills and attitudes required Resourcefulness, ingenuity, good dexterity, and physical ability; Capable of working alone and in teams; Autonomy and thoroughness; Proven ability to diagnose heavy equipment.
