Position Summary

The Nurse Manager will have the responsibility to lead the Withdrawal Management Services program for adults over the age of 19 who require supervised withdrawal management support for their alcohol and/or substance use dependence. They will also support the clinical leadership and supervision of LPNs and RNs throughout the broader Recovery & Addictions portfolio.


The incumbent will ensure that policy, procedures, protocols, programs/curriculum, and standards of care reflect best practices and are consistent with safe and effective care delivery principles. They will provide leadership and clinical supervision to a diverse staff team that includes Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Withdrawal Management Workers, and Recovery Care Workers. The manager will also serve as the licensed site manager and ensure compliance with Community Care and Assisted Living Act regulations.


The incumbent ensures that the day-to-day operations of the service are delivered in accordance with The Bridge’s philosophy, policies, and procedures, and holds the safety and well-being of the people in care as their priority concern. This position provides ongoing clinical & program supervision, performance coaching and evaluation of all program employees, and, as a member of the agency Leadership Team, participates in a variety of agency initiatives and community and agency committees.


This position will be part of a Nursing roster that supports the safe and sustainable operations of the program as a member of the on-call roster for the Withdrawal Management site.


Position: Full Time 40 hours per week


Compensation: Grid level Nurse Manager $102,336.00 - $132,017.60 per year/ $49.20 - $63.47 per hour

Qualifications

1. Education and experience

  • A diploma or degree in nursing and registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a registered nurse (RN) or registered psychiatric nurse (RPN)
  • Completion of UBC CPD Addiction Care and Treatment Online Course
  • 5+ years of management/leadership/supervisory experience (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience working in addictions/substance use treatment field (preferred)
  • Training and experience providing evidence-based responses to alcohol use disorder, substance use disorder and concurrent disorder.
  • Experience working within or leading facility-based/residential services

  • Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve effectively.
  • Teaching: Ability to transmit information intended to instruct clinicians and others about topics essential to clinical practice.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical practices, standards, and current trends in Recovery & Addiction treatment and care.
  • Ability to operate related equipment including proven ability to utilize computer technology.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.


3. Other Requirements

  • Valid B.C. driver's license and use of a reliable vehicle
