About the Role This position is based in the OpenText office in Richmond Hill, Canada. What The Role Offers Define the Architectural Vision: Craft and champion the long‑term architectural strategy and technical roadmap for the OpenText Cloud Platform. Design for Scale: Lead the design of large‑scale, distributed systems and establish foundational patterns for microservices, event‑driven architecture and data‑intensive applications. Drive Technical Excellence: Partner with senior engineering leaders and product managers to translate business objectives into robust technical solutions. Mentor and Inspire: Serve as a trusted advisor and mentor to senior engineers and technical leads. Champion Innovation: Evaluate and integrate cutting‑edge technologies and trends. Lead Cross‑Organizational Alignment: Influence and align technical decisions across global, distributed teams. What You Need To Succeed A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience. Proven track record in software development and architecture, with extensive experience designing and delivering large‑scale, distributed systems in a cloud environment. Experience in cloud computing architecture, designing cloud‑native applications using AWS, GCP or Azure. Hands‑on expertise in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) and understanding of service mesh, API gateways and CI/CD pipelines. Experience designing resilient, secure, and scalable APIs and microservices. Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate complex technical concepts to executive stakeholders, engineers and partners. Passion for mentoring and growing talent. Familiarity with AI concepts and tools. Experience working in Agile/Scrum/Lean environments with a DevOps mindset.
