With an extensive heritage in a wide range of solutions delivered to customers globally, our Satellite Systems team continues to grow and evolve on the ground and in the stars.RoleThe Manufacturing Engineer is called upon to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manufacture space products used on state-of-the-art satellites.As part of a dynamic team, the engineer is responsible for inter-program cohesion and for the assembly, integration and testing of our space products (AI&T). From the design phase, through assembly, testing (thermal, vibration, electrical, etc.) and up to the acceptance of the products by the customer, he/she ensures the good quality of the product and the documentation throughout the production chain, within the time and cost limits.In addition to monitoring projects, the engineer actively participates in the continuous improvement of the various production departments (electronics, composite, antennas, payloads, supply chain, testing). Continuous improvement consists of optimizing or automating tasks, selecting, evaluating and qualifying new equipment, implementing corrective actions, qualifying new processes/products/subcontractors. He/she also contributes to the implementation and monitoring of the Lean Manufacturing philosophy and Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Working in a constantly evolving environment, the manufacturing engineer is recognized as an agent of change within his/her team.TasksSuggest and implement new technologies such as robots, vision systems, quality control and preventive maintenance tools in collaboration with the engineering and production teams (technology watch)Analyze and validate existing processes, while participating in the design, installation and deployment of new solutionsUsing the tools and ERP, monitor costs and schedulesDevelop and implement optimal working methods, efficient testing tools and train users appropriatelyParticipate in Technical Overview Boards (TOBs) to ensure production needs are met in the designsRepresent the production team during MRBsMaintain, improve and troubleshoot existing production equipmentDiscussion with the project manager and the client to define the requirementsCommunication with other team members, both internally and externallySupport production after start-upAnalyze performance indicators of production cellsExperience and skills requiredBachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with minimum 2 years of experienceGood interpersonal skills and ability to work in a teamGood written and oral communication skills in French and English (Contact with customers outside Quebec)Interest in change and new technologies - Change managementAbility to learn quickly and work under pressureAdvanced computer skillsDesirable skillsExperience in composite productsKnowledge of satellite productsKnowledge of manufacturing processesKnowledge of surface finishing processesKnowledge of metrologyCreative and innovativeGood synthesis skillsLeadership and good interpersonal skillsInterest in digital transformation and artificial intelligenceExperience in new product integrationExperience in high volume production#LI-PP1 #IND1 #SPSpecial ConsiderationsSuccessful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.Benefits StatementMDA provides competitive compensation and benefits packages for its employees at all locations.
