Senior Groom Artist (Houdini) (Short-Term) Overview WildBrain Studios is looking for a Senior Groom Artist to join our team for a short‑term contract, starting early January 2026. Reporting to the Producer and working collaboratively with Assets Artists, you will create high‑caliber Grooms for one of our exciting CG productions. Responsibilities Create and deliver Grooms for characters, creatures, and digital assets, ensuring all production deadlines are met while maintaining quality standards. Collaborate with the CG Supervisor and creative leadership to design and achieve the creative and technical objectives of a production. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth integration of Groom elements. Revise shots based on client and creative feedback in a timely manner. Be proactive in identifying and communicating any issues that could affect timelines, quality, or delivery schedules. Adhere to the studio’s established pipeline processes and carry out duties professionally and positively. Document Groom workflows to ensure consistency and support team knowledge. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in animation, games, or film, with feature animation experience preferred. Production experience using Houdini for Grooms is required. Demonstrate understanding of groom behavior, form, and silhouette. Ability to use and build scalable groom rigs and create groom libraries. Ability to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. Nice to Have Experience with Flow Production Tracking. Experience developing with Python or another object‑oriented programming language. Experience with XGen, Yeti, or equivalent Groom software packages. Union Status This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement. Pay Range $1,280 – $2,000 CAD per week based on a 40‑hour work week.
