Be our next Senior Electrical EngineerYour work environment at EXPIn this role, you will be a part of the mining team, based in the office locations mentioned above.What a day at EXP has in store for you:Lead, supervise and mentor electrical designer level staff on all their responsibilities.Power, PLC automation, instrumentation and control design.Oversee development of design concepts by designers and ensure proper application and execution.Verify designer’s work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.Mentor and encourage development of designer level staff.Apply EXP’s risk management practices of electrical engineering.Lead the design team to produce engineering/construction documents that meet project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget.Have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of discipline engineering.Encourage collaboration to seek the best solutions.Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.Write studies and reports for electrical systems on projects.Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination.Perform front-end loading of electrical systems for projects.Contribute to revisions of EXP’s design standards and master specifications.Evaluate Value Engineering (cost-cutting) items with respect to our level of risk.Edit and develop the basis of design narratives documenting the project scope.Design high, medium, and low voltage AC and DC systems.Protection & Control design.Develop electrical one-lines, load lists, area classifications, etc.Participate in HAZOP, PHA, and safety reviews.What Your Experience Looks Like:BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario.Ten (10) years’ experience in the mining industry.About Us:With a mission to understand, innovate, partner, and deliver, EXP provides engineering, architecture, design, and consulting services to the world’s built and natural environments.
