OverviewSenior Accountant, Privately Held Business Group – Doane Grant Thornton LLPJoin to apply for the Senior Accountant, Privately Held Business Group role at Doane Grant Thornton LLP.ResponsibilitiesCollaborating with colleagues to provide exceptional service to clients under varying reporting frameworks across different industries and sectorsPlanning, preparing and executing financial statement reviews and compilations, including budget and resource requirementsCompleting monthly and annual bookkeeping for clients (preparation and advisory) and assisting with payroll and HST calculationsPreparing various types of tax returns and responding to CRA requests for informationSupervising, coaching and providing timely feedback to junior engagement team membersContributing to the building of our reputation as the preferred business advisors in key sectors of our growing practiceOther duties as requiredQualificationsCompleted post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent professional experienceMinimum 2 years of public practice accounting and/or bookkeeping experience for small to medium sized owner-managed businessesStrong technical expertise in accountingExperience in tax return preparationStrong focus on exceptional client service and relationshipsStrong planning and time management skillsProven problem solver with solid analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutionsAbility to successfully work independently and as part of a teamExperience mentoring and coaching junior team members is an assetExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with MS Office and accounting software (CaseWare, TaxPrep, Sage, QuickBooks) with ability to quickly grasp new toolsWhat's in it for youProfit sharing, Flex days, RRSP contributions, firmwide holiday closure, wellness benefits, concierge-like benefits, and more.
