Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day transportation operations. This role provides leadership across planning, organizing, and executing daily operational activities to ensure a high standard of customer service and employee satisfaction. As a member of the management team, the Operations Manager plays a key role in setting operational direction, supporting company goals, and providing coaching and development to staff.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and coordinate daily transportation operations including service delivery, customer service and operational personnel.Supervise daily operational activities to ensure routes, charters, and spare driver assignments are effectively managed.Provide strong leadership to the operations team including dispatchers and drivers. Issue commendations and progressive discipline as required.Plan and organize daily operational requirements to meet service commitments and customer expectations.Maintain accountability for operational performance and service outcomes.Foster positive morale with the operations department by setting and modeling strong business ethics.Build and maintain respectful, professional relationships with employees, suppliers, and customers.Demonstrate leadership that earns trust and promotes collaboration across all stakeholder groups.Maintain records, files, and information as required and for billing purposes.Education, Experience and LicensingGrade 12 completion, along with graduation from a recognized college or university program with a major coursework in business, transportation, or a related fieldMinimum five years of progressively responsible experience in administration, preferably within the transportationMinimum of three years of supervisory or leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceValid Class 1S or Class 2S driver’s license considered an assetAbility to successfully complete a criminal record check and drug and alcohol testingSkills and CompetenciesStrong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholdersDemonstrated strong leadership, organizational, and people management skillsFlexible and adaptable in a fast-paced operational environmentAble to manage multiple deadlines and detailed organizationProficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and OutlookWorking knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and practicesExperience with project management, contract administration, and policy administrationDemonstrated experience with budgeting and fiscal controlDispatch and/or previous Operations Management experience considered an assetSeniority LevelMid-Senior levelEmployment TypeFull-timeJob FunctionManagement, Customer Service, and OtherIndustriesTruck Transportation and Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain and Storage #J-18808-Ljbffr
