Software Development Manager, AWS Billing & Procurement Experience

Key job responsibilities
- Own a material piece of AWS's next-generation invoicing platform and encourage to think big, invent on behalf of our customers, make judgment calls and find elegant solutions to hard problems.
- Lead talented engineering teams in the design, development, test, deployment and operation of services that our customers depend on.
- Grow leaders and engineers through active coaching and hiring.
- Shape the overall product experience and scope of the product through partnership and collaboration with product management, UX and product marketing.
- Drive cross-team leadership with other AWS teams to deliver platform features and cloud adoption.
- Define the system architecture and own the operational excellence and the quality of the products.
- Represent your business and operations to leadership within AWS on a regular cadence.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Vancouver, BC, CAN

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

The base salary for this position ranges from $171,400/year up to $286,200/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
