The Canadian Mental Health Association – Cochrane TimiskamingBranch is currently recruiting a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for theAssertive Community Treatment Team in its Timmins office.

In keeping with the Mission,Vision, Values of the Canadian Mental Health Association – Cochrane TimiskamingBranch (CMHA-CT), the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is a member of amultidisciplinary team and plays a key role in the coordination and delivery ofnursing services for clients who are affected by addictions and serious mentalillness. The Nurse recognizes and respects the individuality and uniqueness ofeach client, including their needs, values, beliefs, and choices. 

Qualifications: 

1. Registered Practical Nurse diploma;

2. Minimum of three years’ related mental health experience orequivalent combination of education and experience;

3. Membership/registration in good standing with the College ofNurses of Ontario;

5. Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Nursing Act, RegulatedHealth Professions Act, Health Care Consent Act, Community Treatment Orders,and other related legislation in Ontario;

6. Sound knowledge of psychotropic medications including usage andpotential side effects;

7. Demonstrated critical thinking skills including strong clinicaljudgment and problem-solving skills;

8. Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communicationskills;

9. Ability to manage crises in an effective, professional manner;

10. Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced,often pressured, environment;

11. Valid driver’s license from the province of Ontario and use ofa reliable vehicle for work purposes;

12. The ability to provide services according to a work scheduledetermined by the employer and according to the needs of the individualsserved.
