Deep Sky is at the forefront of combating climate change through innovative carbon removal technologies. Our mission is to develop and implement scalable solutions for direct air and ocean capture systems. We are embarking on an ambitious project, Deep Sky Labs, our first facility designed test and validate direct air capture pilots. To achieve this milestone, we are seeking an experienced Construction Manager lead the construction of this state-of-the-art facility.

As Construction Manager, Capture you will play a vital role in delivering and managing our state-of-the-art direct air capture and direct ocean capture facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong track-record in managing large-scale projects in the heavy industrial sector, such as chemical processes, with a passion for environmental sustainability and technological innovation.

In this role, you would oversee the construction of Deep Sky’s facilities which includes tasks such as:
  • Selecting, hiring, coordinating, and managing contractors and subcontractors on site, ensuring compliance with architectural and engineering plans, as well as environmental and safety standards.
  • Managing direct reports, and their teams
  • Overseeing schedules and budgets, monitoring project expenses, and identifying opportunities to optimize costs
  • Focusing on safety, quality, costing, and reporting
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, both internal and external
  • Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies
  • Addressing any conflicts or issues that arise during the construction process, working collaboratively with stakeholders to find viable solutions
An ideal candidate has:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing construction projects in the heavy industrial industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven working experience in construction management, with a preference for projects related to environmental technology or sustainability.
  • Familiarity with construction and project management software.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to manage diverse teams and contractor relationships.
  • Excellent time and project management skills, able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Certification in construction management, project management, or related field is a plus.
