Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range$124,000.00/yr - $186,000.00/yrThe RoleAMD's power management design team is seeking an experienced Firmware Design Engineer to contribute to System and Power Management firmware for AMD's APU, Server, GPU and Accelerator products. For the ideal candidate, this position offers a very good growth path in a highly visible role.The PersonWe are looking for a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate for this role has a can-do attitude, is meticulous with attention to detail in feature design, coding and verification, and possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills.Key ResponsibilitiesAssume ownership in development and/or verification of firmware designed for an embedded microcontroller.Develop and verify firmware in C/C++Occasional creation of utility software using C++, Perl, PythonWork with hardware design and verification engineers to verify firmware featuresContribute to architecture of hardware, firmware and power management featuresPreferred ExperienceSignificant experience in software development and/or verificationExcellent knowledge of C/C++, Assembly, and scripting languagesPower/thermal management experience is an assetGood understanding of digital electronics and computer architectureStrong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detailsAcademic CredentialsBachelor's, Master, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or relevant fields.LocationsMarkham, ONBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
