Key Responsibilities Manage tort files from start to settlement, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the process. Apply knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure to maintain compliance and handle litigation tasks effectively. Handle all aspects of file management, including opening, reviewing, scheduling, and maintaining thorough and organized records. Draft and prepare essential legal documents, such as Mediation Briefs, Affidavits of Documents, and Examinations for Discovery. Schedule and coordinate mediations, examinations, and court appearances with precision. Maintain detailed records and client correspondence using TimeMatters, Filevine, PC Law, and PrimaFact software. Conduct legal research and assist in preparing for trials or hearings when required. Monitor deadlines and limitation periods, ensuring timely filings and adherence to court schedules. Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and court offices to facilitate the smooth progression of files. Organize and prepare documents for settlement negotiations and assist in executing settlements. Qualifications 4+ years of experience as a Tort Law Clerk, with proven ability to manage files independently. Strong working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and litigation processes. Proficiency in legal software such as TimeMatters, Filevine, PC Law, and PrimaFact. Excellent drafting skills. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently while being an effective team player. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
