Senior School Mathematics Teacher Position: Teacher – Contracts/One Full‑Time, Fixed‑Term Contract Ashbury College is a leading not‑for‑profit independent day and boarding school for Grades 4‑12, located in Ottawa, Canada’s capital and within the traditional, unceded territory of the Anishinàbe Algonquin Nation. We serve a vibrant community of over 60 nationalities, including students from the National Capital Region, the international diplomatic corps, and both domestic and international boarding families. Position Overview Ashbury College is seeking three full‑time Grade 9‑12 mathematics teachers for the 2026‑2027 academic year. Two positions are for indefinite full‑time contracts and one is a full‑time fixed‑term contract for a period of two years. As the successful candidate you will demonstrate subject‑matter expertise, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. Your teaching practice will incorporate contemporary learning theories, creative technology use, and collaboration with colleagues. Priority is awarded to Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certified candidates. Minimum Requirements A degree in mathematics Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification in good standing, a current application toward certification, or demonstrated ability to obtain OCT certification Certification in senior level mathematics or equivalent qualification Demonstrated subject‑matter expertise Preferred Qualifications Ability to teach in both English and French IB Mathematics teaching and professional development experience Evidence of technology‑enhanced teaching Commitment to enriching whole‑school life, promoting pluralism and belonging Experience leading an enriched mathematics club or other co‑curricular activities International teaching experience Core Competencies Integrity & Accountability Well‑being & Inclusion Relationships & Collaboration Communication & Engagement Growth & Adaptability Planning & Preparation for Student Learning Effective Instruction and Assessment Creating a Supportive and Inclusive Classroom Environment Specific Responsibilities Teach full‑time (5 classes) Lead and participate in co‑curricular activities Lead a Teacher Advisory Group Provide on‑call coverage as required Actively participate in Department meetings, faculty teaching and learning opportunities, and whole‑school activities Compensation Competitive salary package including participation in the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.
