The Opportunity Our team is growing, and as a result we're adding a Project Manager to our group. As part of the Remediation Program Management team in Edmonton or Calgary, you'll be responsible for driving contaminated upstream oil and gas sites to closure through your work with a close-knit team of environmental specialists, professionals, and technical staff. We value and are committed to upholding a culture of Inclusion and Belonging Our Flexible Work Policy – we recognize the importance of balance in our lives and encourage you to prioritise balance in yours Our Hybrid Work Policy – a combination of in-person and remote working, enabling purposeful work arrangements A Canadian success story – proud to represent Canada and show what it offers Enhance the world around you – from environment to highways, buildings and terrain, WSP is the fabric of Canada Outstanding career opportunities – grow daily, bring ideas, try new things A phenomenal collaborative culture – workforce filled with genuinely good people doing important work What you can expect to do here Participate in a team environment, working closely with Project Coordinators, other Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads, and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers to progress contaminated upstream oil and gas sites toward closure Review Health and Safety plans and Emergency response plans Prepare proposals and cost estimates, schedule field staff and subcontractors, review data and reports, and provide recommendations Take responsibility for project accounting, tracking and reporting requirements Train junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, remediation oversight, and site‑specific health and safety Interface with clients to ensure needs are met and projects/proposals move forward, collaborating with the team to deliver necessary support Provide support to the group in sharing health and safety, project management, completion, and client service responsibilities What you’ll bring to WSP University degree in engineering or natural/earth sciences Minimum six years of experience in contaminated site assessments of upstream oil and gas sites Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace and a safety‑conscious attitude Strong field experience and willingness to train others Understanding of Alberta Environmental regulations such as Tier 1 and Tier 2 guidelines Professional designation (if applicable) About Us WSP is one of the world’s leading professional services firms.
