MCASPHALT | Regional Controller, Operations McAsphalt Industries Limited is an industry leader in asphalt products and services, established in 1970 with over 500 employees across Canada. The role of Regional Operations Controller supports regional operations teams by providing accurate financial data, managing assets, creating budgets and forecasts, and reporting to regional and corporate leadership. Job Information Job Title: MCASPHALT | Regional Controller, OperationsEmployment Type: Full-time PermanentLocation: Okotoks, Alberta (future relocation to Calgary)Reporting To: VP, Finance Main Duties and Responsibilities Actively participate in the company safety program and be responsible for all safety requirements. Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. Complete month‑end financial packages in a timely manner as required by Colas Canada Inc. Protect assets through internal controls. Conduct audits and provide information to external and internal auditors. Prepare and monitor semi‑annual budgets, collate, analyze, and consolidate financial data, and present budget to Colas Canada Inc. Achieve cash budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. Provide status updates on regional financial condition when requested. Prepare special reports as required. Comply with federal, provincial, and other legal requirements. Maintain professional and technical knowledge and confidentiality of financial information. Manage all subsidiary finance employees. Adhere to legal and human resources requirements, including code of ethics and performance management. Align with Shared Services Group, maintain communication with VP Finance and Corporate Controller, and enforce procedures. Support subsidiary operational management in decision‑making. Facilitate a high‑performing team based on metrics. Other duties as assigned by VP, Finance. Required Qualifications Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax laws, and reporting requirements. Experience in construction or manufacturing industry is an asset. Proven ability to develop, manage, and audit systems and processes. Clear communication skills at all levels. Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office and Adobe. Experience in JD Edwards, OnBase, or other ERP systems is an asset. Adaptability to learn new software quickly. Decisive problem solving under pressure. Organizational and prioritization skills. Strong time‑management skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Adaptability to changing work environment. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting. CPA designation or recent CFE pass.
