Support building maintenance at UBC’s THE NEST using repair, painting, and handyperson skills during weekday evening shifts. This permanent part-time position runs Monday to Friday.
The Alma Mater Society seeks a Building Operations Maintenance Assistant for its 250,000 square foot Student Union Building. You will maintain venues, equipment, building fabric, and fittings according to AMS standards, procedures, and regulatory legislation. The position suits someone completing education with handy work experience or someone seeking single-facility operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor and follow directions
- Complete minor furniture and equipment repairs
- Perform minor painting and finishing work
- Move furniture, equipment, and other materials
- Clean workshops, loading docks, floors, and beer lines
Requirements:
- Basic drywall, painting, or repair experience is an asset
- Building maintenance, handyman, cooling, or carpentry background is an asset
- English speaking, reading, and writing ability required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 60 kilograms
