Journeyperson Electrician

RoleReporting to the Site Supervisor, the Journeyman Electrician performs maintenance, upgrade and installation of electrical systems in industrial settings. The role requires reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints and electrical code specifications, inspecting systems to ensure compliance, and supervising Electrician Apprentices through coaching, mentoring and training.ResponsibilitiesExecute installation of electrical wiring, conduits, cable trays and fixtures across industrial facilities.Install electrical panels, switchgear, control systems and distribution boards to regulate and distribute power.Handle installation of motors, generators, transformers and lighting systems.Establish power distribution networks including cable laying and transformer installation.Ensure grounding and bonding to mitigate hazards and uphold safety standards.Maintain routine maintenance duties and troubleshoot electrical issues.Adhere to Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and other relevant codes, standards and regulations.Apply lockout‑tagout procedures and safety protocols in manufacturing or industrial environments.Operate construction equipment such as skid steer, mini hoe, manlifts and zoombooms.Comply with Rising Edge Technologies Ltd.’s Health and Safety Manual and industry safety regulations.Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring and training to Electrical Apprentices in understanding, identifying and resolving technical issues.Adhere to safety policies and safe work procedures and be familiar with potential hazards of working near energized equipment.RequirementsValid Journeyman Electrician Certificate.Minimum 5 years experience as a PSE/Electrician with at least 2 years working in substations.Knowledge of Electrical Utility Code (E.U.C Safety Codes Act) and Occupational Health and Safety rules.Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with acceptable driving record.Ability to work at heights and out of town; willing to travel to remote sites.Pre‑access Drug & Alcohol testing required.Strong interpersonal and communication skills; teamwork orientation.Problem‑solving and analytical skills with ability to meet strict deadlines.Commitment to safe working environment respecting health and safety issues.BenefitsCompetitive compensation and overtime opportunities.Comprehensive benefits package (Medical, Disability, Dental & Vision).Paid Time Off and weekly pay periods.Safety training courses provided; PPE allowance included.Out of town accommodations or per diem and individual accommodations.Employee Assistance Program and DPSP matching program.Location: Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.Schedule10‑hour days (7:00 am to 5:30 pm); overtime paid at time and half after 10 hours in a day or after 40 hours in a week. 2‑week on/2‑week off schedules available.
