Tester

Scope We are looking for a Tester to join our Test Lab located in East Toronto, ON. This role will require working with high‑voltage electrical products and testing. This is a unionized position. Responsibilities Execute high‑voltage tests according to established procedures and standards, setting up and calibrating test equipment, applying high voltage, and monitoring equipment performance. Accurately record test data for analysis, including measurements of voltage, current, and time, and any observations during testing. Prepare test reports that include a summary of the procedures, data, and results. Communicate results effectively to engineers, team members, and supervisors. Ensure and follow all safety procedures when handling high‑voltage equipment, wearing appropriate PPE and following interlocks and procedures. Support laboratory operations by assembling test products and maintaining the test environment. Monitor the condition of test equipment and facilities to keep them in good working order. Report any issues or anomalies detected during testing to appropriate personnel and support the team in achieving daily production quotas. Qualifications Community College diploma in Electrical/Electronic or associate’s electrical certification (required). Knowledge of high‑voltage products and production processes (preferred). Active listening, effective communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team. Attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and flexibility in a fast‑paced work environment. Experience with test instruments such as Impedance Analyzer, Voltage Breakdown Tester, Power Wattmeter, and Micro Ohmmeter (preferred). 2+ years of relevant experience with hands‑on work on LV or HV circuits (preferred). Critical thinking and knowledge of electromagnetic theory and circuit analysis (required). Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows operating system (required). Familiarity with LabView and other industry lab software is strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret AC & DC schematics (required). Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment up to 40 lbs (required). Working at height and using elevating platforms (mandatory). Availability to work shift rotation as required (required). Excellent proficiency in English and ability to complete technical paperwork (required).
