Senior Accountant, Cloud Accounting Services [Senior Bookkeeper] – Doane Grant Thornton LLP We are a large, growing professional services firm that thrives on community, purpose, and innovation. Responsibilities Reconcile data from third‑party applications such as Dext, Wagepoint, Plooto, etc. Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements in QuickBooks Online. Reconcile and review sales data. Review accounts receivable/accounts payable and process using third‑party applications. Reconcile monthly vendor statements. Review payroll time entries and process payroll. Run GST/HST/PST reports, review audit trail, and file reports with CRA. Prepare T4 returns. Set up client files, assist with budgets, and complete administrative aspects of cloud bookkeeping. Perform/assist with month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes. Perform basic financial analysis, prepare analytical reports and cash flow statements. Participate in client discovery calls and collaborate with clients regularly. Train and mentor junior colleagues. Qualifications A passion for technology and innovative thinking. Bookkeeping certification or equivalent. 2+ years’ experience in a similar role. QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is an asset. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience working independently and as part of a team on engagements, monitoring tasks and meeting deadlines. Attention to detail. Experience in Microsoft Excel. Experience with prepaids, amortization, and intercompany transactions preferred.
