The BasicsAs a Software Engineer II focused on Cloud technologies, you will build and maintain best‑of‑breed products and infrastructure as part of a nimble development team. Tanium focuses on a customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning. When new product ideas are identified, our software engineers design, develop, test, and deploy the products and supporting services from the ground up, while iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input.We’re looking for someone with:EducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceCS Degree preferredExperience3‑4+ years industry experienceExperience designing and building high‑impact, high‑performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIsKnowledge of at least one of Golang (preferred), TypeScript / Node.js, Python, Ruby, Rust, or JavaExperience with cloud technologies on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including compute (server and serverless), storage, networking, and securityExperience in databases and SQL preferably with PostgreSQL or DynamoDBExperience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform and other infrastructure technologyExperience with React and TypeScript desiredExperience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like GitHub Actions and JenkinsOtherDemonstrates sound judgment for balancing between rapid development, long‑term code maintainability and supportabilityBelieves in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of developmentExperienced debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environmentsHas knowledge of a variety of modern software frameworks (server side & browser side) and the versatility to learn new toolsAbout TaniumTanium delivers the industry’s only true real‑time cloud‑based endpoint management and security offering.
