Field Service Engineer, 4-Stroke

Field Service Engineer, 4-Stroke Parts and Field Service is now looking for an enthusiastic Field Service Engineer to join our skilled team in Canada. This position reports to the Coordinator Field Service Resources and requires a high level of critical thinking, self-motivation, and a safety-first attitude. Accountabilities Perform service activities such as overhauls and repairs on 4-stroke marine diesel engines. Demonstrate expertise in reciprocating engine repair and overhaul and troubleshoot advanced mechanical and system integration issues. Duties and Responsibilities Perform overhauls and repairs on 4-stroke engines. Perform advanced mechanical and system integration related troubleshooting on 4-stroke engines and ancillary equipment. Interact professionally with customers during the work execution. Commission service products. Lead and manage the onsite team during work execution. Track internal and external progress status of the assigned work. Assist in creating the Service Work Reports. Ensure work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures. Report on status of work orders to customers and internal stakeholders. Continuously seek solutions according to best practices. Qualifications A safety-first mindset. Passion for developing 4-stroke knowledge. Relevant technical education or qualifications and practical problem-solving skills. Technical experience in reciprocating engine repair and overhaul with practical problem-solving skills. Proven experience in installation, operation and maintenance of turbochargers, pumps, heat exchangers, fuel systems, lubrication systems, and cooling systems. Experience on medium speed 4-stroke engines. Experience in working with electrical systems is beneficial. Preferred Candidate Profile High integrity. Passionate about people. Customer focus. Salary & Compensation For applicants residing in BC, the hourly salary range is $35.00 CAD - $45.00 CAD. The starting salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant education, experience and internal equity. Base pay is the range; additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, bonus opportunities.
