Grade AC3B Salary: £92,518 - £118,647 per annum, pro rata. College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine / School of Population Health Sciences / Usher Institute. Part time: 32 hours per week. Open ended: Permanent Contract, Available from February 2026. The Opportunity A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen at Mackenzie Medical Centre (MMC) following the forthcoming retirement of one of our senior GPs. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed General Practitioner to join our vibrant, collegiate and forward‑thinking team to work 8 sessions a week. Mackenzie Medical Centre is the clinical arm of the Usher Institute and sits within the Centre for Population Health Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. The practice is wholly owned by the University—all staff are University employees—while simultaneously operating under a standard NHS GMS contract with NHS Lothian. This unique structure allows us to combine the stability and ethos of NHS general practice with the academic, collaborative and developmental culture of a leading global university.
