This includes, but is not limited to end-to-end month-end close, journal entries, general ledger reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement preparation and report presentation. The successful candidate will have significant previous accounting experience in the end-to-end processes for month-end close, financial systems, financial report generation and presentation, balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry processing.The position requires an individual who is ambitious, self-directed, and capable of working autonomously or with the boarder finance and leadership team.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead the monthly financial close for defined Markets and OperationsProduce and distribute monthly financial statements and other internal and external financial reports, in line with the timelines for completionPerform balance sheet reconciliations; apply technical knowledge and judgement to ensure accuracy of accounts and timely reconciliationsReport and analyze company financial and operating data; provide financial information to enable senior management to make informed long-term and short-term decisionsPrepare variance analysis and provide variance reporting as necessarySupporting the preparation of the quarterly/ monthly forecasts, and annual and long-range planning processes by providing financial analysis and projections, supporting cross-department priority setting, and developing detailed modelingOversight and responsibility for the accurate billing of Management and Services Fees as well as Ancillary Revenues for the Markets.Payroll processingPrepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) documentation related to the responsibilities and tasks of the Senior Corporate AccountantAct as a liaison with IT, Operations and other corporate departments on various projects, initiatives and process improvementsEducation & ExperienceCPA or awaiting designation following completion of CFEAssociate degree or higher in Accounting5+ years of Accounting/Finance ExperienceStrong knowledge and experience with Microsoft ApplicationsAbility to master financial systems and reporting tools (Great Plains/Management Reporter, Vena)Knowledge, Skills & ProficienciesTechnical accounting knowledge and ability to incorporate that knowledge and synthesize information into actionable recommendations and analysisDemonstrated integrity in work product and commitment to accuracyDetail oriented with the ability to analyze data and trendsBusiness acumen, analytical and problem solving skillsHigh sense of urgency and the ability to pivot to address competing priorities or tasksHigh level of ownership and accountabilityAbility to deliver results in a flexible, fast-paced work environmentAbility to anticipate busy schedules and communicate with other members of the team and/or department to complete assignments on timeHigh focus on adhering to financial close deadlines and key deliverablesAbility to adhere to key financial controls in accordance with FASB, Sarbanes Oxley requirements and established corporate policy and procedureStrong ability to work as a productive and positive team memberSuperior communicational skills, both written and verbalAbility to demonstrate and model company values with internal and external customers by providing a high level of customer serviceDisclaimerThe above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
