Located in Belle River, Ontario, this brand-new Residence, opening in 2026, will offer 96 single occupancy rooms with ensuite, and 64 shared rooms, each designed for comfort and dignity. In collaboration with the Director of Care and the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, they develop and implement resident-focused programs and policies while monitoring care quality through ongoing improvement activities.Wage Rate:The starting annual salary is $100,000.Vacancy:This is not an existing vacancy and is a new positionResponsibilitiesPromotes and supports the organization’s vision, mission, and valuesCoordinates clinical programs and assists the Director of Care with projects and assigned dutiesProvides direction to the nursing team and acts as the Director of Care in their absenceImplements and evaluates new care programs based on best practicesEnsures residents’ rights are respected and models person-centered careMaintains compliance with legislation and organizational policiesProvides leadership and mentors Nurse Managers, Supervisors, and clinical staffConducts clinical chart audits to ensure compliance with standards and documentationSupports policy and procedure development aligned with best practices and legislationEvaluates program effectiveness and identifies gaps in collaboration with program leadsFacilitates staff meetings to introduce new programs, policies, and quality initiativesOversees recruitment, staffing patterns, and scheduling activitiesCounsels staff and applies progressive disciplinary processes when neededConducts investigations as requiredCollaborates on quality and risk indicators and participates in annual QIP developmentAdheres to Occupational Health and Safety practicesReports critical incidents to the Ministry of Long-Term CareOther duties as assigned and or indicated in the Job Task InventoryQualificationsCurrent Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse, or equivalent registration from another Canadian jurisdiction under Bill 60 exemptionMinimum of two years managerial experience in a long-term care setting (an asset)Strong knowledge of evidence-based clinical practicesProficiency in electronic health recordsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and motivate, lead, and support team membersGerontology certificate program or equivalent (an asset)Knowledge of RAI-MDS; AIS certification, or completion within one year of hireExperience in policy and program developmentDemonstrated ability to focus on people’s feelings and foster positive social interactionsAbility to meet all legal and regulatory requirementsCompliance & Health RequirementsA current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) completed within the past six months, or willingness to obtain one.TB test results dated within the last six months, or within 14 days of hire; alternatively, a chest X-ray completed within the last year, in accordance with Public Health guidelines.Proof of all required vaccinations must be provided. Staying "up to date" with recommended vaccines is strongly encouraged.
