Key responsibilities include overseeing full-cycle accounting for three or more entities and supporting additional tasks related to financial reporting, internal controls, and system maintenance. About the Position Reporting to the director of finance, the senior accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to: Compile and prepare monthly financial statement packages, budgets, and cash flow statements. Perform bank reconciliations, intercompany account reconciliations, and manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and income tax reconciliations. Address accounting inquiries and resolve issues, including reconciling general ledger accounts. Prepare monthly and quarterly GST/HST filings and other applicable commodity tax returns. Support the year-end review and audit processes by responding to auditors’ questions and preparing working papers and supporting schedules. Assist in the preparation of tax returns and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Analyze monthly variances between actual results and budgets to identify trends and issues. Generate ad-hoc reports and assist with special projects or other accounting-related tasks as needed. Requirements Designated CPA 5+ years of accounting experience Diploma or a degree in accounting Compensation and Benefits Salary: $90,000 to $100,000 Extended health and dental Discretionary bonus 3 weeks vacation Hybrid role – 3 days in office, 2 days from home.
