Senior Tax Manager On behalf of our Public Sector client, Procom is searching for a Senior Tax Manager for a 12 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2days onsite at our client’s Toronto office. Senior Tax Manager - Job Description The Senior Tax Manager will oversee tax compliance, tax reporting, and forecasting. Reporting to the Director of Tax, this role involves reviewing tax returns and provisions, providing tax advice, and assisting with strategic transactions. The manager will also monitor tax legislation changes and mentor staff. Senior Tax Manager - Responsibilities Review tax returns Review tax provisions and prepare analysis to report variances to management Provide tax advice to business units on income tax matters as required Assist with strategic transactions including acquisitions and divestitures Provide tax advice to other lines of business and technical guidance to internal stakeholders Recommend improvements and standardize procedures to improve efficiency Monitor changes in tax legislation impacting tax positionsMentor and develop staff Senior Tax Manager - Mandatory Skills CPA designation At least 7-10 years of progressive experience in auditing and tax Minimum two years’ experience in a people leader position Advanced knowledge of Canadian tax legislation and accounting concepts Experience with US GAAP and / or IFRS Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Effective communication skills Senior Tax Manager – Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with regulated utilities Experience with payroll tax / taxable benefits legislation Knowledge and experience with SAP Experience managing tax audits Experience with SR&ED claims Senior Tax Manager – Assignment Length This is a 12 monthcontractor position with potential conversion to full-time employee.
