Job Posting Title Instructional Design Support - 12 month term Job Category FIR Service Delivery Language Requirements Bilingual Required / Bilingue requis Posting End Date 2026-01-26 Job Grade ATP-5 Pay Range $68,256 - $85,317 Job Summary The main role of the Instructional Design Support is to support the development, maintenance and production of training in accordance with the appropriate specifications as outlined in the ATS Learning Governance Framework. They ensure that all training documentation is accurate, appropriately organized and presented in a clear, concise and consistent format. The position also ensures the timely publication of courseware, including print, online and tablet formats. Copies, edits and rewrites training documents and material to achieve accuracy, proper grammar, clarity, readability, composition and conformity with departmental and company style and language. Provides advice and expertise on editorial matters to clients, and translation services. Collaborates with graphic artists and SMEs to adhere to design specifications. Recommends and implements documentation standards and publishing best practices, including deployment and distribution methods. Develops, organizes and maintains an electronic document library, which includes standardized templates, courseware, and historical documents. Prepares, posts, and maintains information on appropriate website(s). Assists in the research and analysis of internal / external e-Learning training environments, conducts needs analysis initiatives, writes / rewrites, edits and ensures quality control on the content and relevancy of a variety of ATS Learning materials (print, web, tablet, computer-based training) for program and departmental managers, to ensure delivery of effective training products. Assists in external environmental research and analysis to identify emerging ATS Learning, e-Learning, and multi-media issues, trends, technological advancements and / or other issues pertinent to the program. Liaisons with external organizations to probe for information exchange. Education: Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with specialization in a related field of study or a combination of education (such as a college certificate in a related field of study) and work experience. Experience: Experience analyzing student learning needs and developing training materials. Experience writing and editing content for adult learners. Experience with template standardization, updating documents, and management of training and development resources. Knowledge: Knowledge of current adult education theories. Knowledge of theories, principles and practices associated with communications, multi-media product planning, development, evaluation and quality control; of IM/IT methods (including user interface design, development and maintenance; of research and data analysis methods/techniques; and of project planning techniques, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the company policies, standards and guidelines governing the development and publication of NAV CANADA ATS Learning communications products). Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of editing and publishing. Knowledge of MS Office and desktop design / publishing software. Abilities: Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including grammar, spelling and composition. Demonstrated ability to convert complex technical information into clear, concise, plain language. Ability to adapt to changing priorities; work under minimal supervision; and handle multiple concurrent tasks. Ability to establish rapport and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues through interpersonal and team building skills. Ability to recognize patterns, organize ideas and visualize end products.
