Provost and Vice-President

The University of Regina invites applications for the position of Provost and Vice-President (Academic), the University’s senior academic and operational officer. Reporting to the President and Vice-Chancellor, the Provost provides strategic leadership to advance academic excellence, innovation, and student success. This role oversees academic planning, budgeting, faculty and student affairs, and partnerships across federated and affiliated institutions. Key Responsibilities Lead academic operations and strategic planning across Faculties and units. Foster excellence in teaching, research, and creative activity. Oversee academic budgets and resource allocation. Champion Indigenous engagement and Reconciliation. Strengthen student recruitment, retention, and success. Represent the University provincially, nationally, and internationally. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will hold a doctoral degree or its equivalent and qualify for appointment as a tenured full professor. They bring: Proven senior academic leadership (e.g., Dean, AVP, or equivalent). Experience in academic planning, governance, and budgeting. Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous engagement. Collaborative, visionary leadership and exceptional communication skills.
