OverviewKelowna General Hospital (KGH) is a tertiary teaching site in Interior Health and a faculty of the University of British Columbia (UBC) Southern Medical Program. The Department of Medicine, Division of Neurology is recruiting a neurologist to join a team that delivers acute hospital‑based services and outpatient care.Practice DescriptionThe role includes acute care coverage for the hospital neurology service, including a stroke neurology service, and an outpatient practice. The candidate will have opportunities to thrive in medical education, research, quality improvement and leadership. The expected on‑call coverage is 1:5 or less.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the neurology acute care on‑call service.Provide acute hospital‑based neurology coverage including stroke neurology.Maintain an outpatient practice with general neurology and subspecialty interests (stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, neuro‑ophthalmology and headache).Teach medical trainees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.QualificationsMD/DO, completed a neurology residency.Board eligible or board certified in neurology.Interest in general neurology and at least one subspecialty area listed above.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Compensation & BenefitsFee‑for‑service compensation estimated at $250,000 – $350,000 plus MDCAP Level 1. Relocation reimbursement up to $15,000 for candidates relocating from outside Canada Leadership development opportunities through the Interior Health NAVIG8 program.
