The Quality Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality products in a manufacturing environment. This role involves overseeing quality control processes, conducting inspections, tracking non-conformance issues, and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality. The Quality Coordinator works closely with the production, engineering, and supply chain teams to maintain and enhance quality standards, ensuring compliance with both internal specifications and external regulations. Job Description (Function and Responsibilities) Quality Assurance Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes and products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Monitor production processes to identify potential quality issues and deviations from standards. Non-Conformance Management: Document, track, and investigate non-conformance issues, including defective products and process discrepancies. Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address root causes. Process Improvement: Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and increase efficiency. Contribute to lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives, where applicable. Quality Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of quality inspections, audit results, and product tests. Generate regular quality reports for management, highlighting trends, issues, and improvement recommendations. Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with the procurement team to evaluate and monitor the quality performance of suppliers. Ensure that incoming materials meet the required specifications and perform inspections as needed. Training & Support: Train production staff on quality control procedures, proper use of measuring instruments, and best practices to maintain product quality standards. Provide ongoing support and guidance to team members regarding quality-related issues. Compliance & Standards Adherence: Ensure products meet all regulatory requirements, including industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA, CE) and customer specifications. Assist in maintaining certifications and preparing for audits. Internal Audits & Inspections: Lead or assist in internal quality audits and product inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and external regulatory standards. Customer Feedback and Returns: Review customer complaints, returns, and warranty issues to determine if they are related to quality defects. Work with customer service and production teams to resolve issues and improve product quality based on feedback. Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into product failures or quality issues, using tools such as fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to determine root causes and develop corrective actions. Safety & Cleanliness Standards: Ensure that the manufacturing environment adheres to safety and cleanliness standards as they relate to quality assurance activities, and support efforts to maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
