OverviewCLASSIFICATION: OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST; DEPARTMENT: ALLIED HEALTH; POSITION LOCATION: OWEN SOUND; UNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU – HPD; STATUS: PART-TIME; REASON TO POST: NEW POSITION; WAGE RATE: $40.36 - $56.30Reporting to the Manager, Allied Health, the Occupational Therapist facilitates the development and rehabilitation of patients with mental, emotional and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed Occupational Therapy to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.Qualifications / Skills / AbilitiesSuccessful completion of a University Degree in Occupational TherapyCurrent registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of OntarioExcellent professional judgment, conflict resolution and interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, team members, students and community partnersCompetence in the practice of evidence-based occupational therapy and inter-professional care, with experience in the application of practice models and outcome measuresEffective time management and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsReliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional able to work effectively and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team as well as families and community partnersAvailable for a 7-day rotation and site rotationTwo years of recent related experience in a clinical settingRecent satisfactory performance and attendance recordAdherence to Brightshores ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and ‘LEAD’ Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassmentAdvocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes #J-18808-Ljbffr
