For those who dream big and push boundaries on the ground and in the stars to change the world for the better, we’ll take you there.RoleThe Manager, Procurement will spearhead the purchasing processes from selecting suppliers, to ensuring quality delivery of parts, as well as provide guidance on sourcing procurement processes, and procurement personnel.Our leader will be a supply chain expert who will specialize in implementing cost-effective purchases of all goods and services, and on-time shipment of customer deliverables, in compliance with regulations such as Export Control, ITAR, and CGP. Ensuring quality control and adhering to the company’s policies and procedures on supply chain management will be some of your main priorities when carrying out this role.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with Program Management to understand procurement needs for each Program schedule, and manage team to successful executionResponsible for resource planning of department personnelWork to ensure efficient procurement and delivery of goods to, and within, the facilityResponsible for sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors, and working with Safety and Mission Assurance to maintain Approved Supplier ListNegotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous termsBuilding and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.Working with the Contracts department to support tracking of SubcontractsPreparing reports and contributing to financial forecastSupport costing activities for pursuits in the New Business organizationRepresent the RSO business area in the cross-company initiative to modernize and harmonize procurement, planning, and logistics practicesDeveloping procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effectiveReviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.Performing risk assessments and monitoring of supplier performanceOverseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.A lean leader that leads and supports continuous improvement activitiesPreparing KPIsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or other equivalent7+ years of industry experience in related field.Proven experience managing supply chain operations.Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including ERP LNIn-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing invoicing and negotiation terms.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Familiar with interpreting project schedulesManagement and leadership skills.Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.Highly organized and detail-oriented.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.We’re a dream team of purpose-driven, collaborative and passionate people, and we are constantly looking for others to join #TeamMDA to ignite new and innovative approaches to problem-solving that push us forward to improve life on and above Earth.
