Recognizing that there are a variety of terms that potential candidates may use to self-identify, the University uses the term “Indigenous” in this search, which forms part of the U of T Response to Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission, to encompass the people of Turtle Island, including those who identify as First Nations, Métis, Inuk (Inuit), Alaska Native, Native American, and Native Hawaiian people.Responsibilities and QualificationsApplicants must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in kinesiology, sport sciences or a related health-focused field with a strong emphasis on the application of science to high performance sport. A clearly demonstrated exceptional record of excellence in research and teaching is required.Candidates will have an established international reputation with executive experience in creating, leading, and managing human sciences research and development in high-performance sport, sport science, and sport medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to sustain and lead innovative and independent research, and to maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.Evidence of ongoing excellent research productivity and research excellence will be demonstrated through a sustained record of publications in top-ranked and field relevant journals meeting high international standards, presentations at significant conferences, external research funding, distinguished awards and accolades, transformations in practice or policy, and other noteworthy activities that contribute to the visibility and prominence of the discipline.Excellence in teaching and student mentorship in the undergraduate and graduate programs is required, as evidenced by strong letters of reference, teaching accomplishments, and an excellent training record demonstrated by student mentorship in undergraduate and graduate programs.Application InstructionsApplicants must submit a cover letter; a current curriculum vitae; a research statement outlining current and future research interests; a recent writing sample; and a teaching dossier including a teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations.Applicants must provide the name and contact information of three references.
