Customer Service Specialist Prefera Finance Ltd. is a Canadian‑owned, national finance company dedicated to empowering clients through innovative financial solutions. We partner with customers to provide flexible financing for recreational products such as motorcycles, boats, trailers, snowmobiles, and more, while offering leading‑edge point‑of‑sale solutions for automotive repairs. Position Summary Under the direction of the Customer Service Supervisor, the Customer Service Specialist manages current and delinquent portfolios to maintain positive customer relationships, performing all duties in accordance with established Collections Policies & Procedures. Responsibilities Provide superior customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns via phone, email, chat, and other communication channels. Follow up with customers and insurance & warranty companies to confirm current and valid coverage. Input accurate notes on all actions taken. Provide recommendations on policy updates. Daily sorting, scanning, and distribution of mail. Issue letters from various departments, arrange courier pick‑ups and mail drop‑offs. Skills and Abilities Bilingual in English and French (written and spoken). Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Attention to detail and intermediate computer skills. Self‑starter capable of multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent communication, customer service, and phone etiquette. Qualifications Previous call‑center or equivalent customer service experience. Previous administrative or equivalent experience. Diploma/Certificate in a related industry is an asset but not required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with Excel is an asset. Shift Times 8‑hour shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (flexible). Hybrid work model with one day in office; schedule may change based on business needs. Working Conditions Hybrid arrangement with approximately 1‑2 days per week at the Etobicoke, ON location. Indoor workspace with adequate temperature, ventilation, and lighting. Normal exposure to noise, stress, and disruptions. Requirement to sit at a computer for long periods, with intermittent standing or walking. Standard 37.5‑hour week, including rotational evenings and weekends.
