The Senior Field Technician is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise, complex on-site service, preventative maintenance, commissioning, and specialized customer support for company products and equipment. This role acts as a subject matter expert and mentor, ensuring that all field operations are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The Senior Technician drives superior customer satisfaction, resolves escalated technical issues, and ensures strict compliance with all company and safety regulations. Accountabilities Lead the installation, commissioning, maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and repair of complex pumps and related equipment at customer sites, often involving specialized or critical systems. Act as the primary technical resource for escalated service requests, diagnosing root causes and implementing definitive solutions in a timely manner. Mentor and provide on‑job training to Field Service Technicians, sharing advanced diagnostic techniques and best practices. Conduct thorough site assessments and pre‑job planning to ensure all resources, parts, and specialized tools are available for complex tasks. Provide expert guidance to customers and stakeholders on product optimization, advanced maintenance schedules, and safety protocols. Maintain and meticulously utilize the Field Service Software to document complex job details, including detailed failure analysis, technical notes, and inventory usage. Identify, report, and proactively mitigate high‑risk health and safety hazards, setting a leading example for safety compliance on all job sites. Actively observe and clearly communicate potential sales opportunities (upgrades, replacements, advanced service contracts) identified during site visits to the sales or management teams. Ensure all personal and specialized tools are calibrated, maintained, and used in accordance with manufacturer and company standards. Maintain and provide up‑to‑date certifications for all advanced technical and safety training required for the role (e.g., advanced electrical certifications, specialized equipment training). Knowledge, Skills & Experience Advanced Diploma or Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Technology (is an asset). Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in field service, technical maintenance, or industrial equipment repair. Must have experience with pumps, valves and motors. Valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean record and willingness to travel extensively. Expert‑level diagnostic, electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills for complex system failures. Proven ability to lead complex projects and manage high‑pressure, time‑sensitive service calls with minimal supervision. Proficient in using mobile service software, advanced diagnostic tools, and technical documentation.
