In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting electrical controls for HVAC equipment and systems. The Electrical Controls Engineer will work alongside the application engineering team, service technicians, and project managers to deliver high-performing, integrated systems tailored to each client’s unique needs.This is a hands-on, technically challenging role that requires deep expertise in controls and an understanding of modern HVAC systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop advanced electrical control systems for HVAC equipmentExperience with PLC and HMI systems is preferredCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Applications, Engineering, and Service) to define technical requirements and develop project specificationsAnalyze and troubleshoot control systems, resolving technical problems and providing innovative solutionsIntegrate various building systems using protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and othersProvide support for system commissioning, startup, and customer handoverInvestigate electrical and electronic failures and recommend corrective actionsProvide tailored solutions for VRF system integration and unique control challengesEnsure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and industry best practices (NEC, CEC, IEC, IEEE)Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems , or related discipline5+ years of experience designing and developing electrical control systemsExtensive experience with PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi)Controls programming and configuration backgroundFamiliarity with low voltage (Solid understanding of BAS systems and communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet)Proficiency in interpreting and developing electrical schematics and layoutsStrong understanding of control system software and hardware integrationProfessional Engineer (P.Eng) license or equivalent certification is preferredPrevious experience in HVAC, manufacturing, or industrial environmentsSkills & AttributesStrong problem-solving and analytical capabilitiesSelf-starter who can work independently and collaborativelyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDetail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesPassionate about technology, system integration, and continuous improvementWant to work with skilled people at the top of their game and play a part in developing state-of-the-art solutions?
