While the initial focus was on establishing the framework and infrastructure needed for the start-up organization, InBC has arrived at an exciting stage in its evolution and is now seeking a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who can lead the organization in focusing, enhancing, and deepening its impact in the Province.Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will have overall accountability for the organization, ensuring not only the vision, mission, and strategy are well defined but also that they are executed with discipline and measurable results. Leading a team of ~20, the CEO will ensure InBC consistently meets its mandate to strengthen BC’s economy by creating jobs, retaining intellectual property (IP) in Canada, attracting and diversifying investment capital, and investing in small- to medium-sized businesses in key sectors such as technology, life sciences, defense, and other emerging industries.The ideal candidate will be an experienced and influential executive with strong financial acumen and a proven track record leading teams, delivering on complex mandates and operating in multi-stakeholder environments. They will ideally bring strong exposure to capital allocation, investment decision making, risk management, portfolio management, negotiations, and strategic partnerships. Strategic, creative and credible, they will represent InBC effectively, building trusted relationships with communities, organizations, First Nations governments, and other groups.This is an incredible opportunity to shape the future of an organization that will make a significant and lasting impact on the province of BC at this critical juncture. For a proven executive who is truly passionate about British Columbia, Canada, and the importance of making positive social, environmental, and economic differences in the province, this is a unique and impactful opportunity.In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is ~$230,000-280,000 plus benefits but may vary based on the successful candidate.
