With more than 100 years of experience in the field of machine building and automation, we are working on tomorrow's intelligent production today.DESCRIPTIONThe Field Application Engineer (FAE) will be responsible to provide technical support to sales and product marketing organization for product launch, presales, and post sales activities for all Phoenix Contact products. The focus will be on driving project specifications with an objective to provide innovative and cost‑effective solutions to our valued customers. It is expected that a high proportion of applications will be in the area of Industrial Automation so the right individual will possess a strong understanding of that technology in order to follow through the project from beginning to end.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESSupport local region sales staff as a resource for presales, acquisition and post‑sales support to help drive growth across Canada.Develop customer applications with objective to provide solutions to specific customer challenges.Support the introduction and launch of new products with application support to customers and to the sales team.Effectively collaborate and communicate with the entire Phoenix Contact team.Develop and maintain an expert understanding of industrial process and factory automation.Develop and maintain a working knowledge on all Phoenix Contact products and solutions.Support the implementation of sales plans as specified by the Regional Sales Managers and Business Area Managers for ICE and IMA.Develop, schedule and/or conduct product presentations and/or technology seminars to targeted accounts or industries in conjunction with the regional sales teams.Provide feedback and status on opportunities in the CRM system as appropriate.Assist Sales Teams in their job to meet and/or exceed sales goals.Support Automation installations within Canada.Must be able to reference our success stories / automation application wins to sales team both written and verbal.Consistently provide feedback to the field and Head‑office regarding territory requirements as it relates to industry trends, product and/or market requirements.Where applicable, work with Key and Global Accounts to implement Key Account/ Global Account strategies in order to achieve program objectives.Self‑learning skills and continuous professional development.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSUniversity degree and/or College Technician/Technologist diploma.4 to 5 years automation application experience in the industrial controls marketplace.Good foundation of IEC61131 programming.Knowledge of C++, Java, HTML, Linux operating systems is an advantage.Good foundation of Ethernet Networking, Machine Safety and Visualization technology.Knowledge of Cyber Security in Industrial and Commercial environment.ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTSAttendance in accordance with company policies and participation in local, regional, and (inter)national meetings.Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time.Bilingual in English and French is required.We are offering an attractive remuneration package, employee benefits and the opportunity to contribute to a fast‑paced growing company with dynamic leadership and a history of growth and profitability.Awarded one of Canada’s Best Workplaces, we recognize people as our most valuable resource.
