Support students with exceptional needs as a Developmental Assistant at Thomas D'arcy McGee School, using communication and self-regulation programs.
This 10-month, Level 5 position with the Ottawa Catholic School Board involves assisting with student programs. You will support gross and fine motor development, communication, socialization, and self-care. The work also includes evaluating progress, supporting general school activities, and completing other assigned duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist planning programs for students with exceptional needs
- Implement gross and fine motor skill programs
- Support communication, self-regulation, and integration development
- Assist with evaluating student progress
- Participate in general school activities
Requirements:
- Developmental Services Worker diploma or equivalent program
- Two years of related experience
- Current CPR and First Aid
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Initiative and commitment with teamwork ability
