Job Description Project: Onaping Depth Rotation: 14 on 14 off Shift Length: 13 hrs Allowance: Base on location Travel: Based on location Benefits: Redpath offers comprehensive benefits including but not limited to health, dental and vision care, life insurance, pension and employee assistance program Pre‑employment requirement: Drug Test Job Summary Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the primary role of the Electrical Superintendent is to ensure that the construction of the project progresses according to plan and is completed to standards. The Electrical Superintendent is to administer, direct and coordinate the activities of the mine development, construction and maintenance crews, and to coordinate and request the necessary equipment, materials and supplies needed for the project. The Project Superintendent plays a critical role in all of Redpath’s activities within a project with direct responsibility for health and safety, contract performance and client relations. Responsibilities Responsible for the overall planning and scheduling of projects to ensure that they are completed in a timely and cost‑effective manner Perform daily inspections of work performed to ensure it meets quality/safety standards Ensure all required electrical repairs, maintenance, testing, and installations are completed properly, i.e. to regulatory and company specifications, and on time Supervise, mentor and direct reports in their assignments Apply disciplinary procedures as required Enforce site and company policies Determine equipment necessary (type and size of cables, wires, panel boards, safety switches, etc.) to perform tasks and requisition as needed Redirect crew activities in response to unforeseen or unplanned developments Support and communicate with project management team as required Request and coordinate assistance from maintenance group as required to complete assigned tasks and maximize productive time Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner Must be able to follow proper procedure to ensure safety and to control equipment damage The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. Health And Safety Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment Personally accountable to strive for 0/0/0 safety performance at the project Ensures disciplinary policy is understood and applied following Company health and safety standards and reinforces the standards by personal example Responsible for the use and maintenance of all safety equipment, i.e. lanyards, warning signs and labeling, according to company rules and applicable legislation Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet Education/Certification QUALIFICATIONS Journeyman Level Qualification (Industrial or Construction & Maintenance Electrician) Master Electrician Licence an asset Supervisory Common Core and asset Work Experience Required: 10 Years in an Industrial or Construction Electrician role with a minimum of 3 years in mining. Supervisory experience: minimum 2-3 years. Preferred: 5 years' experience in supervisory role Knowledge Required Knowledge of standard practices, materials, electrical processes involved in underground mining development Knowledge of design, installation and maintenance of the electrical equipment used in underground development areas (PLC’s, cable installation, work platforms, transformer installations, fans, pumps, etc.) Ability to plan, schedule and monitor work for employees/crews Knowledge of rigging and slinging heavy components Ability to understand work from blueprints, schematics, sketches, etc. Knowledge and experience in low, medium and high voltage installations Knowledge of legislation and safety regulations pertaining to electrical work Ability to mentor and encourage others Computer literacy required working with spreadsheets, business systems (i.e. Oracle procurement), and email Ability to multi‑task and work effectively Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently Respectful of cultural differences #J-18808-Ljbffr
