As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has an execution‑phase contract with Kiewit Nuclear Canada for the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP). Beginning in 2025 Aecon will support construction of Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site. The Project Controls Coordinator reports to the Project Controls Manager and provides guidance and support for DNNP. Responsibilities Provide support in developing, establishing, and maintaining the company’s project cost/control systems. Assist in proposal and estimating efforts to align project estimates with the baseline. Help develop detailed, resource‑loaded schedules. Convert project bids into a complete, accurate baseline (budget and schedule). Set up project accounting systems (cost codes, job cost processing procedures, project credit rules). Ensure contract conditions (invoicing, reporting, change management, etc.) are applied and fulfilled for project set‑up, tracking, reporting, and closeout. Monitor project performance and ensure the control system is properly implemented. Generate required project status reports for internal management and the customer, including dashboards and performance reports (Earned Value, SPI, CPI, etc.). Review and analyze project schedule and cost reports, and suggest corrective actions to keep the project within anticipated cost and schedule. Implement change management procedures in compliance with contract conditions and Aecon’s standards. Support the team in budget and forecast management during execution to reflect accurate project status. Qualifications 3–5 years of project controls experience in construction. College and/or university degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees. Strong detail orientation, time‑management, and multi‑tasking abilities. Willingness to learn and advance technical knowledge. Valid Class G driver’s license and access to a vehicle. Service‑oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
