Click here YOUR NEXT CHALLENGEReporting to the General Supervisor, Underground Mine Outside this role you will be part of the Underground Mine Department. You will be responsible for the work performed by the mining team in terms of safety, efficiency, and the quality of the work performed. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.Ensure that all practices and procedures are performed with respect to the defined regulationsEnsure the health and safety of the mining team by verifying that weekly and monthly safety audits are performed (work cards, inspections, safety meetings, etc.) and that accurate reporting and investigating of accidents and incidents are thoroughly completedEnsure that mining employees have received proper training/accreditation for the jobs they perform and for the tools/equipment they operatePromote Agnico Eagle’s environmental and sustainability policies, ensuring all federal and provincial legislative requirements are metPrepare the shift's lineup as required, ensuring maximization of resources in an effort to achieve optimal performance and meet daily objectives safelyEnforce the utilization of the work card and supervision formula principals during the course of(global) every shiftLead the mining team in all safety and production‑related matters and correctly record all relevant information and dataComplete the timesheets, shift logs and reports accuratelyEnsure smooth communication and interaction within the technical and operations teams to assist in the planning and design so that goals are achievedPerform all other duties as requested by the management teamWHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDHigh School DiplomaPost‑secondary studies in a field of study related to mining is considered an asset2 years of recent experience in a leadership position2 years of experience in the mining industryAbility to plan and organize large scale operationsAbility to adapt quickly to an ever‑changing environment and its challengesHold or be eligible for Level 2 Supervisor Certification, as per the Mining ActHold or be eligible for a valid first aid certificateExcellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPointNote that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.YOUR WORK SCHEDULESchedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and restAccommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee.
