Fast-growing building services consultancy with offices in Vancouver / Toronto seeks a Mechanical Engineer. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Designer with a proven ability to maintain strong client relationships and build new business across company portfolio. Candidate will have the ability to lead a design team as well as mentor team members. Compensation: Package to be $80,000-$120,000 depending on relevant experience. Base salary, bonus and share ownership options available. Outpost Recruitmentis excited to work with our client on this role.Responsibilities of Mechanical Engineer:Design of mechanical HVAC, plumbing and fire protection in large-scale commercial and institutional building applicationsImplement the design concept through the preparation and production of drawings and schematics of mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, residential, public and private facilitiesCoordinate withother consulting disciplinesto ensure drawing integrity and completenessThe Mechanical Engineer will work with project team and Project Manager to ensure on-time project completionReview other discipline drawings (structural, architectural, landscape, civil-external)Work with contractors and provide technical and administrative support through all phases of the projectCoordinate with internal production teams and reconcile project drawingsOvertime as requiredQualifications, Experience and Education of Mechanical Engineer:Post-secondary educationin Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline such as Building SystemsMinimum 3+ years relevant working experienceDesign experience in any or all of the following areas HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systemsBackground developing construction documents using AutoCAD and/or RevitFamiliar with bid and tendering processExtensive knowledge of detailed architectural drawings and construction concepts and the ability to read and apply pertinent codes and standardsExcellent knowledge of Canadian/Provincial and other relevant codes and standards (i.e.: ESC, CSA, IES, IEEE, NFPA)Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Project and PowerPointExperience working with customers and client baseExperience working in a team-based environmentExperience in site investigations and construction reviewP. Eng. or CET certifications would be an asset for the Mechanical EngineerRequired Skills:Excellent communication skills, bothwritten and verbalProven ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverablesAbility to communicate and work well with other departmentsExcellent time management skillsAbility to work under pressureAnalytical, thorough, resourceful and detail-orientedTeam and customer service-focusedSelf-motivated, hardworking, flexibleIdeal Mechanical Engineer Candidate:• Only Mechanical Engineer candidates with authorisation to work in Canada will be considered.Please clearly highlight relevant work experience, project overviews and project scale ($) in your resume. #J-18808-Ljbffr
